After a long and intensive search and testing in the factory we where able to pack the cough drops in wax paper mainting the needed quality of the products.
The wax paper wrappers are made from material which is coming from FSC certified sources. The used wax is complete vegetarian, made from corn and rapeseed oil. And is free from palm and cocos oil.
The vegetable wax protects the paper against moist, which is necessary to maintain a good quality product.
The wax paper wrappers are biologic degradable, altought the wax is slowering the process a bit. If the wax paper wrapper comes (by accident) in nature they will complete perish despite the frequent used plastic wrappers.
Many consumers enjoy Dr Toms cough drops outside of the house. With the plastic wrapper it is easy to loose this while walking out side due to the weight of the wrapper. By example They fall outside your pockets when taking your keys
The wax paper wrappers are heavier and fall less easy out of your pockets.
At Dr Toms we are looking on different ways to improve our sustainability policy. We don’t use any plastic tapes anymore but paper tape on the outercases. And look for energy savings in production and other steps we can make to make the difference.
